Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset — Mental Block Holding Most Lifters Back

The idea of growth vs fixed mindset comes from psychologist Carol Dweck, who introduced it in her book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success.

A fixed mindset is the belief that intelligence, talent—even your body’s potential—is fixed. You either have it or you don’t. And that belief kills progress. Especially in the gym.

A growth mindset flips that. It’s the belief that with effort, consistency, and learning, you can develop any skill—physically and mentally. It’s what separates the lifter who plateaus from the one who evolves year after year.

In this episode, I break down how Dweck’s framework applies directly to fitness, discipline, and the ego traps that keep most bodybuilders stuck. Adam also breaks down why stubborn frames that a lot of people have are not strong frames, why it's good to be open-minded.
